周一,欧盟、俄罗斯和乌克兰回到谈判桌上再次开始关于天然气供应问题的谈判。
The European union , Russia and Ukraine are back on the table Monday for a second talk on gas supplies. The second round of negotiation is held in Berlin, and is to focus on gas supplies to Ukraine and gas bill that Ukraine owes to Russia. These issues were not settled during the first round talks held earlier this month.
The EU depends on Russia for 30 percent of its gas supplies, with nearly half of that going to Europe through Ukraine. EU policy makers are seeking more diversified resource supplies and envisions a single integrated market to reduce gas prices.
But analysts say it will take time to build such an energy market, especially when eastern European countries such as Lithuania and Latvia are wholly dependent on Russian gas.
