Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed in Beijing.
Xi praised the Bangladeshi prime minister, saying that she is continuing the legacy of her father, President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, by promoting bilateral relations with China.

Xi said that the two countries are also about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
He added that the two sides should maintain high-level exchanges and expand pragmatic cooperation to boost their comprehensive partnership.
Xi said that China supports Bangladesh following the path of development in line with its own national conditions.
Xi also said that China is willing to share its agricultural technologies and experiences with Bangladesh. And as an important country along the maritime silk road, Bangladesh is welcomed to participate in the cooperation initiatives of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st-Century Maritime Silk Road".
Sheikh Hasina said that her country will step up its cooperation with China. She said that Bangladesh will continue to support China on issues related to its core interests and major concerns.
Sheikh Hasina is on an official visit to China from June 6–11, on the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang.
