人大常委通过法案以提高军事设施安全
The NPC Standing Committee--China's top legislature-- has wrapped up its five-day bi-monthly session. It has passed a series of amendments, bills, and reports, including a draft legal amendment to improve the security of military facilities.
The bill was submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress for the second reading. The bill asks local governments at county level and above to build coordination mechanisms to jointly protect military facilities.
In addition, it calls for the protection of military facilities to be considered alongside the concerns of economic and social development. According to the bill, military facilities should meet the requirements of urban planning, and they should be assessed for safety and environmental impact. It also tightens security for military radio facilities. Those who destroy walls, barbed wire, boundary markers or other military facilities, will also be punished in accordance with law.
