China and the US have begun High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange in Beijing, the fifth round. More than 180 representatives discussed a wide ranges of topics including education, technology, and culture.

China and the US will continue high-level cooperation on educational policy and people-to-people exchanges. They will also renew their agreement on educational exchange and cooperation, and continue to carry out governmental cooperative projects.

China will continue programs that include government scholarships for 10,000 Chinese students pursuing doctorates in the US. Various educational exchange programs are in the works.

"We are holding the China-US Maker Contest to encourage creativity and cooperation among youth. We will invite experienced American basketball coaches to China to organize training courses. We also support both sides learning each other’s languages and promoting the development of Confucius Institutes," Cen Jianjun with Ministry Of Education said.
