A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip has struck a gas station in the southern Israeli city of Ashdod, setting off a large blaze and sending plumes of smoke into the air. Israeli media said one person was seriously wounded in the blast.
Meanwhile, in Gaza, an Israeli airstrike hit the home of a known Islamic Jihad leader, reportedly killing five people. Earlier Friday morning, two rockets were fired into Israel from the outskirts of Lebanon’s southern town of Mari, about 1 kilometer from the border with Israel.
It is unclear who fired the rockets. But authorities immediately cordoned off the area to search for the suspects. The confrontation in the Gaza Strip has so far killed at least 90 people, including civilians.
