周一发生的阿富汗地震引起的死亡人数已上升到365人,两千多人受伤。
The death toll from Monday's powerful earthquake in northern Afghanistan has risen to 365, with over two thousand people injured.
The magnitude-7.5 quake struck the Hindu-kush mountainous area, and it also rattled neighbouring Pakistan, India and Tajikistan. It claimed 115 lives in Afghanistan, 248 in Pakistan and two in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
In the Afghan capital Kabul, electric power and communications were temporarily interrupted, and some buildings sustained damage.
Officials say rescue works are facing extreme difficulties, as roads linking the quake-hit areas are still blocked by landslides. They say continued rainfalls and low temperatures are also adding to their woes.
Meanwhile, in neighboring Pakistan, the quake caused mudslides and road damage in the northwest region.
