China on 5 April said that it will lodge a diplomatic protest to India for obstinately allowing the Dalai Lama to visit the "disputed" Arunachal Pradesh. The country asserted that this has caused "serious damage" to bilateral ties.
4月5日，中方提出抗议，称印方执意安排达赖到中印边界东段有争议的地区阿鲁纳恰尔邦活动，这严重伤害中印关系。
"India in disregard to China’s concerns obstinately arranged the Dalai Lama’s visit to the disputed part of the eastern part of China-India border causing serious damage to China’s interests and China-India relations," Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told reporters.
发言人华春莹在回答记者问询时表示，印方不顾中方的关切，执意安排达赖到中印边界东段有争议的地区活动，严重伤害中方利益和中印关系。
Chinese firmly opposes this move and will lodge representations with the Indian side, she said.
她说：“中方对此坚决反对，并将向印方提出严正的交涉。”
Chinese media also sang the same tune and said that India has challenged "Beijing’s bottom line."
中国媒体也认为印度挑战了中国的底线。
Meanwhile, India has accused China of creating an artificial controversy over the Dalai Lama’s visit.
同时，印度控告中国对于这一问题制造“人为争论”。
"Arunachal Pradesh is an inseparable part of India, and China should not object to his visit and interfere in India’s internal affairs," said minister of state for home affairs, Kiren Rijiju.
印度内政国务部长基伦·里吉朱称：“阿鲁纳恰尔邦是印度的重要部分，中国不应反对达赖串访，干涉印度内证。”
The 81-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader reached Bomdila in West Kameng district on 4 April to start his nine-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh.
81岁的西藏精神领袖于四月四日抵达达旺，开始对阿鲁纳恰尔邦进行为期九天的访问。
China claims parts of Arunachal Pradesh as southern Tibet and had previously warned that if India allowed the Dalai Lama’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh it would cause "serious damage" to ties.
中国称阿鲁纳恰尔邦部分地区为西藏南部，并曾经警告说，如果印度允许达赖喇嘛访问阿鲁纳恰尔邦，将对双方关系造成“严重破坏”。
