China to become third-largest contributor to UN regular budget
China is set to be the third-largest contributor to United Nations regular budget from 2016 to 2018, after the United States and Japan. China's assessed contribution will account for 7.9 percent of the international body's total membership dues.
Wang Min, China's deputy permanent representative to the UN, says the increase in contribution reflects China's national strength and influence in the international system.
Meanwhile, China will also become the second-largest contributor to UN peacekeeping budget, only next to the United States, overtaking Japan for the first time.
