Chinese leaders held a Central Rural Work Conference in Beijing on Thursday to review the country's rural and agricultural work in 2015. The meeting will also map out plans for 2016 and beyond.
The policies discussed will be included in the yearly central government No.1 document. Officials say the 2016 document will mainly focus on efforts to integrate the first, secondary and tertiary sectors in rural areas, as well as issues such as modern farming and promoting e-commerce.
The other key issues likely to be discussed include ensuring food security, maintaining stable income growth for farmers, accelerating efforts to modernize infrastructure and improving production capability and quality in 2016. That is according to a statement released Monday after the Central Economic Work Conference, a key economic meeting.
