At least 123 people have been killed after an oil tanker caught fire in Bahawalpur district, Punjab Province in eastern Pakistan on Sunday morning, senior local government official Rana Mohammad Saleem Afzal told state television.
Witnesses said some people were smoking at the scene after the oil tanker overturned, which could have helped start the deadly blaze.
The incident also left more than 100 people injured as many people in the area had collected the leaking oil from the tanker, media reported.
