New Delhi World Book Fair Opens with China as Guest of Honor

This year's New Delhi World Book Fair has opened in the Indian capital, with China as the guest of honor.

Six years after India was guest of honor at the 2010 Beijing International Book Fair, India is returning the favor. Eighty-one Chinese publishers have brought more than 5,000 publications to the fair. Themes include politics, economics, society and culture. The fair also saw a lot of Indian readers keen on Chinese books and culture.

Launched in 1972, the fair has developed into a major calendar event in the publishing world. This year’s edition runs until January 17.
